China's cotton import and export situation from January to June 2021

　　From January to June 2021, China's agricultural product import and export volume reached US\$146.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 26.4%. Exports totaled US\$38.39 billion, up 9.2%; imports reached US\$108.11 billion, up 33.9%; and the trade deficit was US\$69.72 billion, up 52.8%.

　　Cotton: From January to June 2021, 1.647 million tons of cotton were imported, a year-on-year increase of 75.3%; the import value was US\$2.85 billion, up 79.3%. In addition, 1.133 million tons of cotton substitutes [1] were imported, an increase of 31.0%.
